Spectral type L4. Primary component of a binary system made of two L-type brown dwarfs separated by 10 AUs and tracing a far-flung circumbinary orbit around star HD 2057.
Configuration should be (ABD)b (with HD 2057 Ca-Cb) if the inner spectroscopic companion star, likely an M dwarf (HD 2057 B, mB = 0.25 MSol for a mass function 0.0008 and M1 = 1.19 MSol) is considered along with the ascertained farther M dwarf companion 13.81 arcseconds away (HD 2057 D, spT M5V, 605 AUs at 43.8 pc, 737 AUs at 53.4 pc).
Gomes et al. (2013) infer that the two resolved brown dwarfs might actually be unresolved binaries themselves, thus making it a possible quadruple substellar system.
